Make the customer feel like they are ahead
In a tough economy, where everyone is watching their money, give the customer something extra. As a fellow
business owner I have learned that by just giving the customer a little more than they may have paid for makes a customer forever. Just look and see where you can throw them something that they thought they would pay extra for and give it to them. Consider it an advertising expense.

Its not easy but it has to be done
Do not drag it out. Good leaders know when it is time to let someone go. You should always know
what you are looking for in an employee. They should know what you are looking for. If everyone knows what it expected, it is easy to communicate when expectations are not being met. Be clear when you hire on what you expect of your employees. Put it in wring.

Yes they are right
The customer is not always right, but we let them think they are. You gain nothing from being right as the owner. Our motto is "The customer is not always right, but let them think they are". This in house philosophy keeps the sanity of your employees doing customer service.
